Ha is Director of the Thang Long Institute of Mathematics and Applied Sciences; professor and former director of the Institute of Mathematics (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology), member of the State Council for Professor promotion of Vietnam, Chairman of the Council for Professor promotion in Mathematics. His main area of research is analysis and number theory. He has found a generalization of Nevanlinna theory for p-adic functions, and has also found an interpolation theorem for unbounded p-adic analytic functions, also applicable to p-adic L-functions. He is a member of the Vietnamese Academy of Science and Technology.

Le Tuân Hoa is a full professor of the Institute of Mathematics Hanoi (IMH), Vietnam Academy of Sciences and Technology. He graduated in Belorussia, obtained his PhD in 1990 at University of Halle, Germany and Doctor of Science in 1995 at the IMH. He joined IMH in 1981, where he served as a Deputy-Director from 1998 to May 2011, and director from 2013 to 2017. From June 2011 to October 2013 he was seconded to the Vietnam Institute of Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and took the position of Managing director there. He also served as the president of the Vietnam Mathematical Society (VMS) for the terms 2008 - 2013 and the president of the South East Asian Mathematical Society (SEAMS) for the terms 2012-2013. Since 2018, he is the chair of Section Mathematics of the State Council for Professorship of Vietnam. He is elected as an IMU/ CDC Member for the period 2023-2026. His research focuses on the complexity of algebraic objects. He has more than 60 publications.

Lê was emeritus professor, University of Aix-Marseille, France. He was educated at Lycée Voltaire and Lycée Louis-le-Grand, Paris and Paris University. His subsequent positions included: Assistant, Faculty of Sciences, Paris University; attaché de recherches; chargé de recherches, and maître de recherches, CNRS; vice chairman and chairman, Mathematics Department, University of Paris 7; maître de conférences, Ecole Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France; professor, University of Paris 7; directeur de recherches, CNRS, Marseille, France; and professor, University de Provence, Marseille. He was also head of the mathematics group at the Abdus Salam International Centre for Theoretical Physics in Trieste, Italy. He was editor of the International Journal of Mathematics, Journal of Singularities and Acta Mathematica Vietnamica. He was awarded the Prix d’Aumale by the French Academy in 1990.
