The TWAS-DFG Cooperation Visits Programme provides postdoctoral researchers living and working in sub-Saharan Africa with the opportunity to make a three-month ‘Cooperation Visit’ to a research institute in Germany. Such visits must be undertaken within 12 months of the award.
TWAS-UNESCO Associateship Scheme
In collaboration with UNESCO and a number of centres of excellence in the South, TWAS has instituted a Joint Associateship Scheme to enable competent researchers from the South to visit these centres regularly. An associate is appointed for three years during which he/she can visit a Centre twice for research collaboration. TWAS provides travel support for the associates and a contribution towards subsistence costs up to USD300.00 per month while living expenses are covered by the host centres.
Research Professors
The objective of the programme is to provide institutions and research groups located in Least Developed Countries (LDCs) with the opportunity to establish long-term links with TWAS members and TWAS Young Affiliates/Alumni to assist in research activities and advanced training and so help develop the local scientific capacities needed.
