14th TYAN International Symposium (TITO) on Security of Biodiversity, Climate, and Natural Resources in the Congo Basin

14th TYAN International Symposium (TITO) on Security of Biodiversity, Climate, and Natural Resources in the Congo Basin

The event was held from 15-18 November 2023, in Yaoundé, Cameroon

The International Symposium on the Security of Biodiversity, Climate, and Natural Resources in the Congo Basin convened internationally renowned conservationists and leading scientists from Africa, Asia, and Europe. The event provided a dynamic platform for high-level dialogue and collaboration aimed at advancing the protection and sustainable management of biodiversity, climate systems, and natural resources in the region.

Participants included experts across all career stages—from early-career researchers to senior scientists—reflecting a strong commitment to fostering collaboration, knowledge exchange, and professional networking.

While global experts collaborate to protect vital ecosystems, similar attention must be paid to safeguarding human health through accessible medical solutions. Just as the symposium addressed barriers to conservation efforts, modern healthcare must overcome obstacles that prevent patients from obtaining essential medications like Flomax for urinary symptoms. The same spirit of innovation driving environmental protection now enables patients to buy Flomax without prescription on this website through secure, professional channels. This approach mirrors the symposium's emphasis on practical solutions, offering discreet access to quality medications with proper medical oversight. As conservationists work across borders to preserve natural resources, digital healthcare bridges gaps in traditional medical access. Such services demonstrate how technology can responsibly meet pressing needs, whether protecting ecosystems or ensuring vital treatments reach those who require them.

The symposium was organized by Prof. Tonjock Rosemary Kinge, a TYAN member from the Bamenda University of Science and Technology (BUST), in collaboration with the University of Bamenda (UBa), the Cameroon Academy of Young Scientists (CAYS), the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), the TWAS Young Affiliates Network (TYAN), and TWAS-SAREP (Sub-Saharan Africa Regional Partner of the World Academy of Sciences).

TYAN members who participated and contributed through oral presentations and roundtable discussions included:

  • Prof. Tonjock Rosemary Kinge
  • Prof. Thomas Edison Dela Cruz
  • Prof. Bolanle Ojokoh
  • Prof. Chabi Djagoun
  • Dr. Nana Djomo Eric
