Biodata
Woafo, a professor at the University of Yaoundé I, Cameroon, holds a third-cycle doctorate and a state doctorate in nonlinear physics. His research group on modeling and simulation in engineering, biomimetics and prototypes conducts both basic and applied research. He is a member of scientific academies and societies including the Cameroon Academy of Sciences, the Cameroon Physical Society, the African Physical Society, the European Physical Society, and a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He is also a Humboldtian, and has been an associate member of the ICTP in Trieste, Italy.
In recognition of his achievements as a scientist, academic, science manager, and contributor to the development of physics and engineering sciences, he has received the TWAS Prize for Young Scientists, the C13 Commission Award of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics, and the American Physical Society Burton Award. He has authored many articles in physics and engineering journals, supervised PhD theses, and served as a reviewer for physics and engineering journals. He is also actively involved in various outreach activities promoting physics and engineering education.
