Biodata
Yongmiao Hong is a Distinguished Research Fellow at the Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Dean of the School of Economics and Management at University of Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a Fellow of the World Academy of Sciences (TWAS) and the Econometric Society, a Senior Fellow of the Rimini Center for Economic Analysis (RCEA) and the Asian Bureau of Finance and Economic Research (ABFER), and a Vice Chair of Steering Committee for Economics Teaching in Higher Education under Chinese Ministry of Education. He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego in 1993 and joined Cornell University that same year, later serving as the Ernest S. Liu Professor of Economics and International Studies and Professor of Statistics from 2010 to 2020. Professor Hong was President of the Chinese Economists Society in North America from 2009 to 2010. His research interests include model specification testing and evaluation, nonlinear time series and generalized spectral analysis, structural changes and time-varying econometrics, financial econometrics, interval-valued data analysis, and machine learning econometrics.
