Durrani Tariq Salim

Durrani is Research Professor at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. He has received a number of awards including: M. Carlton Award, IEEE Aerospace Soc., 1974; IEEE 3rd Millennium Medal, 2000; IEEE Signal Processing Soc. Meritorious Service Award, 2000; the OBE in 2003 for services to higher education and electronics research; the GG2 Leadership and Diversity Award for;Asian Man of the Year in the UK, 1999; and the 2005 Muslim News Award for Excellence in Engineering, Science and Technology; the IEEE Haradan Pratt Award, 2024 and he wasindicted into the IEEE Hall of Honor,2025 . He has authored over 420 publications and he has supervisd over 45 PhDs. His membership includes: Fellow Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers; Fellow Royal Society of Edinburgh; Fellow, Royal Academy of Engineering, UK, Internatrional Member US National Academy of Engineering and of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is currently Fellowship Secretary of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
