Biodata
I am a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Chemical & Environmental Engineering (CEED) at the University of Mauritius. I have served a full term of Headship of the CEED from March 2024 to February 2026. I am a TWAS Young Affiliate Alumnus (TWAS Young Affiliate Fellowship 2013-2017). My research interests (RIs) span aqueous-phase adsorption data analysis and modeling, ultrasound- and microwave-assisted processing, and chemical process analysis. Within my RIs, I actively engage in multidisciplinary collaborations through ‘think tank’ discussions with local and international peers to produce research articles and critical reviews/perspectives. I enthusiastically engage in teaching, counselling & supervising students to impart the knowhow and skills that enable them to develop competencies and attributes sought in chemical engineering graduates, and thereafter, to grow as engineering professionals. I have supervised more than eighty BEng (Hons) dissertations on core chemical engineering and environmental science topics, eight master's theses. I am currently co-supervising two MPhil/PhD research studies (environmental engineering). I am also involved in diverse administrative matters.
