Biodata
Thabane is vice-president of research at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton and St. Joseph's Health System, and scientific director of the Research Institute at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton. He is also a professor of biostatistics in the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University. He holds the honorary position of etraordinary professor at the University of Johannesburg. He is a Fellow of the African Academy of Sciences, the Royal Society of Canada, the American Statistical Association, the Society for Clinical Trials, and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences, and an honorary foreign associate member of the Academy of Science of South Africa. He is the founding editor-in-chief emeritus of the journal Pilot and Feasibility Studies and serves on the editorial boards of scientific journals, including Trials and BMJ Open. He has co-authored more than 1,300 peer-reviewed publications, making significant contributions to the advancement of science, healthcare, and healthcare delivery. With more than 200 graduate students and junior faculty members mentored, he has received many awards for excellence in teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
